One Hope Church is part of the Church of the Nazarene, a global family of believers who share our faith, values, and mission. The name “Nazarene” comes from Jesus Himself, who was called a Nazarene because He grew up in the small town of Nazareth.

The Church of the Nazarene began in the late 1800s under leaders who were deeply moved by the poverty and hardship around them in Los Angeles. They founded the church to preach grace, holiness, and hope to people on the margins.

That history still shapes us today. Being Nazarene means we take seriously Jesus’ call to love those in need, bring transformation, and extend God’s grace to everyone, no matter their background or story. It means we don’t just gather. We serve, we care, and we belong together.

Why is One Hope a part of a denomination?

At One Hope, being a part of the Church of the Nazarene is not just a label. It’s a family we belong to.

Being Nazarene connects us to a global movement of people who are passionate about following Jesus and making Him known. It gives us encouragement, accountability, and partnership with believers around the world who share the same mission.

We believe no one does faith well in isolation. Being part of a denomination is about coming alongside others who share our beliefs and values. The Bible teaches that leaders and churches thrive in healthy accountability, and the Church of the Nazarene provides this with grace and care. We seek to exist in full harmony with the Church of the Nazarene.
Over 10,000 high school students from across the USA & Canada came together at Nazarene Youth Conference 2023! We were thrilled to bring over 20 students from One Hope, joining more than 150 from Colorado. Experiences like this connect us to the larger Church of the Nazarene and remind us that we’re part of something much bigger than ourselves.
